Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

230 children participated in Sports Day organised by Kindergarten "Rusalka"

Sports day under the motto “Higher, Further, Faster” was organised by Kindergarten “Rusalka”. This was the closing event part of the kindergarten’s project, financed by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation under the “Ruse – European City of Sport 2016” Programme.

230 children participated in the sports day. The children from Children’s centre “RALIZ” who were special guests of the event and also took part in the various games.

The three teams “Crabs”, “Fishes” and “Frogs” participated in various fun games and competed for the first place. Collaboration and mutual support were very important in the games with the participation of the children from Children’s centre “RALIZ”.

All participants in the sports day received sports games and accessories. The kindergarten’s cheerleading squad, folk ensemble and contemporary dance studio greeted the audience and participants with their performances.
