6 students recognised as family memory keepers

6 students from Ruse were awarded the title “Family memory keeper” during an official ceremony официална церемония which marked the end of the “Exploratory mission: History and photos from my city”. The project was implemented at the initiative of State archive – Ruse, Ruse Free Spirit City Foundation and Econt Foundation.


The exploratory mission was launched in the spring of 2017. The idea of the mission was for students from 1st to 12th grade to find an interesting family photograph, related to the past of Ruse, and to publish the photo and the story behind it on the Facebook page dedicated to the contest.


Within the contest framework 6 students submitted 15 stories with photographs. Participants included students from Ruse, the Emirate of Kuwait and Finland.


The stories were reviewed by a jury, consisting of:


Elena Minkova – Executive director of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation, Ventsislava Nikolova – Chairman of Econt Foundation, Petya Lazarova – history inspector from the Regional education administration – Ruse and Tolya Chorbadzhieva – representative of State archive – Ruse.


The prizes were awarded by the Executive director of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation Elena Minkova.
