For the third consecutive year Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation organised Vintage Car Parade – Ruse.
The event took place under the patronage of the Mayor of Ruse Mr Plamen Stoilov and was organised by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation. It was opened by the Executive Director of the Foundation – Elena Minkova.
93 vintage vehicles, cars and motorcycles made in the period 1920-1987, from Bulgaria, Romania and Sweden participated in the third edition of the event.
The vintage vehicles were assessed by an expert jury and prizes were awarded in different categories.
The awarding ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Ruse Municipality Plamen Stoilov, the Deputy Mayor for European Development Strahil Karapchanski, MP Plamen Nunev, the Director of Culture and Education Directorate Irena Petrova and others.
“I am delighted that for the third time Ruse hosts this unique event which has turned into a wonderful tradition”, said Mayor Stoilov and awarded the Mayor’s Cup to Nikolay Kolev from Varna for his 1955 Mercedes 190 SL. Mr Kolev also received the audience award. The award of Ruse Free Spirit City Foundation was awarded to Tsanko Alexandrov by the Chairman of Foundation’s Managing Board Mr Karapchanski.
The event also included performances by the dancers from Swing Dance School Lindy Hop - Ruse and singers from Vocal group “Slantse” at the Municipal Children’s Centre for Culture and Arts in Ruse, headed by Nataliya Konstantinova. Actress Ralitsa Konstantinova was host of the event.
Just like last year, the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” presented their eco-friendly cars of the future and thanks to their special participation the past and future of automobiles once again met in Ruse.
