Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

Gabriela Yordanova

An incredible voice and a volcano of emotions – that is how the Italian jury at the Sanremo Music Awards Festival summed up the performance of the charming Gabriela Yordanova at the finals of the prestigious international event. The 15^th edition of the Sanremo Music Awards music festival took place February 9-12, 2016 in the city, which has become an international symbol of the Italian song. For the first time international performers were also included in the programme. Gabriela from Ruse went to Italy after she had received an invitation directly for the finals without preselection and competition. Gabby was the youngest performer at the festival. Along with other finalists, she gets the opportunity to participate in an international tour in the USA, Mexico and Algeria. During her stay in Italy, Gabriela worked in Milan with Dariana Krumova – one of the youngest and most promising vocal coaches in the Sanremo Academy. Together with her Gabby worked on the new song she received as a gift from Italian composer Fabrizio Berlincioni. The song to be recorded and produced in Italy soon. Gabriela’s trip to Italy was supported by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation and the School Board of Lyuben Karavelov Primary School – Ruse.
