Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

Gabriela Yordanova won first prize at "BRAVO, TURKU!" International festival

The young singer from Ruse Gabriela Yordanova won first prize at the 9th edition of the "BRAVO, TURKU!" International festival, which took place in Finland May 5-8, 2017. Gabby participated in the festival following a pre-selection round and performed on one stage with participants from Russia, Romania, Finland, Macedonia, Serbia, Malta and Israel. She competed in the age group 14 to 16 years and won the admiration of the 8-member jury.

Gabby, who was the Bulgarian representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 - won the audience's wild applause for her performance of "History repeating" during the Gala concert. In addition to the prestigious first place, she received an invitation to participate in a competition in Transylvania.
