Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

International 3D Street Art Festival "3D-worlds in the city silhouette of Ruse"

Innovative project will take over Ruse in the period July 6-9, 2017. The International 3D Street Art Festival "3D-worlds in the city silhouette of Ruse" is a project implemented by Association European Youth Path, with the financial support of Ruse Municipality “Culture” Programme, Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation and sponsors.

The project will show an avant-garde urban art in 4 creative workshops, located in different parts of Svoboda Square. Four internationally renowned 3D street artists will participate in the festival. Ruse welcomes Vera Bugatti (Italy), Ruben Poncia (the Netherlands), Adriana Garcia and Carlos Alberto Garcia (Mexico).

Each of the artists will be a mentor at a two-day 3D-painting academy for children and young people. On July 8-9, young artists from the National School of Arts “Prof. Veselin Stoyanov” as well as children from other Ruse schools and kindergartens will also participate in the 3D-workshops.

The project is in line with the aim of Ruse Municipality to create alternative cultural spaces, innovative cultural products and an integrated tourism product, to encourage young people to participate in civil initiatives, to form their aesthetic taste and provide them with knowledge for contemporary art.
