Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

International 3D Street Art Festival "3D-worlds in the city silhouette of Ruse" was opened

The director of the Culture and Education Directorate in Ruse Municipality Mrs Irena Petrova officially opened the first for our city 3D Street Art Festival "3D-worlds in the city silhouette of Ruse". There are 4 creative territories on “Svoboda” Square where the 3D artists will create their avant-garde optical illusions.

Vera Bugatti from Italy, Ruben Poncia from the Netherlands, Adriana Garcia and Carlos Alberto Garcia from Mexico are renowned artists, who have created street art works in cities such as London, Melbourn, Berlin, Sao Paolo and New York which are in the top 5 of the cities with most inspiring street works. They will create their art works until Sunday (July 9) and at the same time they will be mentors at youth academy and children’s workshop for 3D painting.

Children and young people can sign up to participate in the academy and the workshop by sending an email to rusefreespiritcity@gmail.com until July 7, 5:30 p.m.
