Katrin Terzich, student at the National School of Arts “Prof. Veselin Stoyanov” – Ruse was awarded 3-rd prize at the VIII Young Pianist of the North International Competition that took place 25-28 November, 2015 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Her participation in the competition was supported by Ruse Free Spirit Municipal Foundation and BH-social project of Econt.
The 15-year-old pianist from Ruse was one of the 39 young pianists from Europe, Asia, Australia and North America who were selected by the Jury of the competition and were invited to play on the YPN stage. She performed works by Mozart, Chopin and Debussy.
Katrin Terzich has been playing the piano since the age of 6, and is currently studying at the Ruse National School of Arts, with piano teacher Evgeni Zhelyazkov. She has participated in a number of master classes led by renowned names in classical music such as Prof. Milena Mollova, Prof. Atanas Kurtev, PhD, Prof. Daniela Andonova, Maria Prinz. The young pianist is a laureate of national and international competitions.
