Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

Mirela Dimitrova

15-year-old Ruse singer Mirela Dimitrova won Grand Prix at the XVII International Children's Art contest Boztorgay. The event took place May 28-June 2, 2015 in Almaty, Kazahstan. Her performance was evaluated with maximum points from the jury, which included experts in the field of art from different countries. Mirela has been singing since the age of 7. Currently she works with popular vocal coach Adelina Koleva. The young singer received invitation to participate in the international children's art forum in Kazahstan due to her numerous prizes won at various national and international contests. Mirela's participation in the prestigious international forum is financed by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation, which has recognised her as one of The Faces of Ruse.
