At a press conference today the project Mission Ruse was officially presented. The citizens and visitors of Ruse will have the opportunity to become part of this first of its kind event in Bulgaria on September 21, at 18:00h, on Svoboda Square. The interactive music performance is initiated and financed by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation. Its aim is to create a sense of community, to motivate and challenge people to create together.
The music project was created by the British composer and conductor Tim Steiner. He has created hundreds of projects across Europe with the participations of professional musicians, amateurs and audience.
Deputy Mayor and President of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation Strahil Karapchanski said he was delighted by the attention Mission Ruse has attracted. “I am thrilled that together with our partner and friend of Ruse, Tim Steiner, we will realize this unique event which will unite artists and audience and will give us a lot of positive energy”, said the Mr Karapchanski.
The work on the project started 6 months ago. In the last few days the conductor has been having intense rehearsals with a couple of hundreds Ruse musicians – professionals and amateurs.
Tim Steiner talked about the project. Among the things that inspired him were the Danube identity of our city, the 100 things that happened here for the first time, and the message for the free spirit of Ruse. The British composer said he was impressed with his work with the Ruse musicians during the preparation of the event. He thanked Ruse Municipality for the invitation to implement this project in our city. “It is a pleasure to be in Ruse, to explore the city and to get to know its people. My goal on Sunday is to create something unique that can happen only here, in this city, in this moment, with the people gathered on this square. It’s not just a concert but a celebration of the city in which anyone can participate and express themselves”, said Tim Steiner.
