On May 4, at the Youth Park in Ruse, Association “Development of Social Capital”, in partnership with Sports tourism and conservation association “Academic” at Ruse University, will officially launch the activities within the framework of project “Development of bike culture – less traffic, cleaner air, healthier and safer way of life”.
The project was approved for financing under the за 2017 call for project proposals announced by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation under Programme “Knowledge and Growth” .
The overall project objective is to provide knowledge on the rational use of the available resources to alleviate traffic and ensure safe and secure road traffic for all road users, with focus on optimal child development and prevention of children’s health and safety.
The project aims to motivate citizens to comply with traffic rules and to enrich the knowledge of the youngest road users.
The main project activities include:
- traffic rules information campaign for students;
- campaign aimed at motivating citizens to comply with road traffic rules;
- photo contest “My childhood bicycle”;
- cycling training using innovative interactive road scheme for children aged 7 to 11;
- cycling on the newly-built bike lanes in the city of Ruse.
Prizes are provided for the children participating in the training.
The winner of the photo contest will receive a new bicycle.
