Ruse Free Spirit City Foundation presented its 2015 Annual Report

Today, at a press conference, the team of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation presented its 2015 Annual Report, as well as its work programme for 2016. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Managing Board of Ruse Free Spirit Foundation and Deputy Mayor for European Development Strahil Karapchanski, the members of the Board Irena Petrova – Director of the Culture and Education Directorate and Maria Georgieva – PR Chief Expert, Elena Minkova – Executive Director of Ruse Free Spirit City Foundation.

 

During the last 12 months, the Foundation supported 145 cultural and art events, which were visited by more than 100 000people. 30 project teams, 8563 active participants and 221 volunteers participated in the implementation of the events.

 

Within its Faces of Ruse Fund, the Foundation supported 5 talented children and 10 creative teams from Ruse.

 

The established partnerships with local businesses and the support we received from the citizens of Ruse are of great importance for us. In 2015 the Ruse Free Spirit City campaign received 34 donations. The commitment of our donors contributes to the wider social effects and strong recognition of the common cause.

 

Thanks to the active support of the business in 2015, we were able to conduct large-scale events such as:

 

·         GREEN ROCK FEST 2015 – with the special participation of the legendary rock band Nazareth. The concert of the Scottish rock stars was a gift for more than 5000 fans.

·         International sand sculptures festival SAND FEST RUSE 2015.

·         First Vintage Car Parade 2015

·         International ice sculptures festival RUSE ICE FEST 2015.

 

 

35 NEW IDEAS WERE RECEIVED WITHIN THE COMPETITION FOR CREATIVE PROJECTS

 

In 2016 Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation will continue to support talented individuals within the Faces of Ruse Fund.

 

The Foundation will also focus its work on supporting large-scale events with high public importance and added value for the local communities. We will also support unconventional and original ideas in the field of culture, cultural and historical heritage, arts, science and education, including informal education, youth activities and the development of civil society.

 

In the period December 5, 2015 – January 15, 2016, within the competition for creative projects announced by the Foundation, were received 35 project ideas, which will be evaluated by a commission.

 

CHARITY CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED FOR PROVIDING NEW MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS TO NATIONAL SCHOOL OF ARTS – RUSE

 

Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation organises a charity campaign for replacing the old musical instruments of the National School of Arts – Ruse with new ones, announced the Chairman of the Foundation Mr Karapchanski at the press conference today.

 

The campaign is held under the motto "Talent without borders" and aims to provide better conditions for creative work of the young artists and their teachers.

 

The head of the school Mrs Maria Dukanova said that the musical instruments in the school have not been replaced for more than 50 years and are not in good condition. Funds amounting to €162 500 are urgently needed for:

 

·         Replacement of Steinway grand piano action in “Ruse” hall – €5000;

·         Purchasing a new piano for the concert hall of the school – €70000;

·         Replacing the piano action mechanisms of 25 pianos  –  €12500;

·         Gradually purchasing 15 new pianos, to replace instruments that cannot be repaired  – €75000.

Demonstrating its commitment to the cause, the Managing Board of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation decided to allocate a sum from its budget, amounting to €5000, and to make a donation to the school. The proposal will be submitted for discussion at a regular meeting of Municipal Council – Ruse.

 

The team of the Foundation appeals to everyone who would like to support the young talents from National School of Arts “Prof. Veselin Stoyanov” – Ruse to participate in the charity initiative. 

 

With the approval of Municipal Council – Ruse, in 2016 the Foundation will be able to implement projects in the field of mass sports and will be actively involved in the Ruse – European City of Sport campaign.
