Ruse Free Spirit Municipal Foundation to finance student’s project for tablet for blind users
29.04.2014

Mayor Plamen Stoilov met with the 19-year-old student from Ruse High School of Mathematics Atanas Atanasov. Together with three classmates, the young specialist is working on the first of its kind tablet for blind users. The project is still at an early stage but the young enthusiasts are working hard on the implementation of their idea. The innovation will be financed by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation.

The idea about the tablet came to the 19-year-old when he was going home after an informatics competition in Sofia. In a subway station he saw a blind person finding the way to the escalators and getting on the train by himself. Later his idea was supported by 3 of his friends and that’s how the work on the project started. “Now we are working on getting invention patent and we are developing a business plan to know exactly what financing we will need”, said Atanas Atanasov.

“My team and I fully support your innovative idea and we will do everything possible to help you bring it to reality”, said Mayor Stoilov.
