Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

Ruse hosted Third National Yoga Fest

The third national yoga festival entitled “Peace and love - Necessity of the presence and culture of the future” was held today in Ruse Municipality. The event was organized by Body Mind Soul Training (BMST) Association with the support of Ruse Municipality, the Bulgarian Yoga Federation and with the financial support of Ruse Free Spirit Municipal Foundation.

Adults and children actively practicing yoga from across the country showed their skills.

The programme of the festival included demonstration of yoga clubs. The President of the Bulgarian Yoga Federation Stefan Ilchev gave a lecture on the importance of yoga for the physical and spiritual health of people.

The participants had the opportunity to join Indian dance workshops. The Yoga festival also included painting with henna and mantra chanting, as well as yoga accessories bazaar.An exhibition of mandala drawings by students from Vasil Levski High School was showcased. The most original drawings were awarded.

The aim of the Yoga Festival is to stimulate the citizens of Ruse to lead a healthy life and to find the harmony between themselves and the world.
