The Department of Telecommunications at “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse invites all Ruse students to participate in a workshop “Digitalisation of objects”. It will take place on February 10, at 12:00 h, at Ruse University. During the workshop, the children and young people will have the opportunity to learn how to create 3D model from a photograph.
The initiative is part of project “Using innovative technologies to create virtual and augmented reality applications for visualisation and promotion of cultural and historical heritage”. The project is implemented under the “Knowledge and Growth” Programme of Ruse Free Spirit City Foundation, supported with Econt Foundation.
The project idea envisages: purchase of specialised equipment and creating a Virtual and Augmented Reality Laboratory at “Baba Tonka” Secondary School of Mathematics, design and implementation of virtual and augmented reality applications in cooperation with the business community, as well as conducting public courses and training seminars with the participation of Ruse students. The seminars will include the following topics: Digitalisation of objects, 3D printing and additive technologies and creation of virtual and augmented reality applications.
The main project objective is development, creation and promotion of innovative virtual and augmented reality applications, which will contribute to the preservation and promotion of the cultural and historical heritage. Technological progress will be used to arouse the interest of children and young people in Bulgarian history.
