Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

Students from German Language High School - Ruse participated in an International student exchange project

20 eight graders from Friedrich Schiller German Language High School - Ruse were on a visit to Realschule in Oberkirch, Germany from 7 to 14 October 2014. Their visit was part of an International student exchange project that the German and the Bulgarian school participate in. The students were introduced to the opportunities for vocational training and the dual education system in Germany. They met with the Mayor of Oberkirch Mr Matthias Braun and learned more about the administrative and economic structure of the region. The Bulgarian students and their German peers worked together on joint projects.

The International project "Bilateral Partnership for student exchange" with Realshule in Oberkirch was implemented with the financial support of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation.
