Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

Tereza Todorova

Tereza Todorova is a student at the National School of Arts “Prof. Veselin Stoyanov” – Ruse with piano teacher Evgeni Jhelyazkov. She started performing at the age of four. At the age of five she took her first piano lesson. She has numerous awards at international and national competitions. In 2013 alone she was awarded 12 first prizes. Tereza participates in all major concerts of the Municipal Children’s Centre where she studies singing with vocal coach Nataliya Konstantinova. She often makes charity performances.

On March 21, 2015, the young pianist and singer performed at the Winners Gala Concert at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York where she received her award at the International competition for young musicians American Protégé. On March 23, Tereza played for the Bulgarian community in America. Tereza’s trip to the United States was made possible with the support of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation and BH – Social Project of Econt.
