Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

The children of Ruse discover the magic of jazz

Children and parents gathered today in Dohodno zdanie for the first educational jazz concert in our city. Special guest and host of the event was the famous musician Ventsislav Blagoev. Together with his colleagues he immersed children in the magic of jazz music. The musicians played ballads, blues, swing and bossa nova, funk and fusion improvisations.

The kids were introduced to the history jazz and musical instruments and some played together with the performers.

The concert was initiated by Ventsi Blagoev, his colleague Daniel Dzhumaliiski and Ruse Youth Association and was financed by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation.

The concert set the beginning of a series of educational concerts in Ruse under the programme “Jazz for Kids” with Ventsi Blagoev. The organizers said that with this event they want to continue the legacy of the legend of the Bulgarian jazz music Petar Petrov – Parcheto, who was dedicated to making the biggest Bulgarian city on the Danube – the capital of jazz.
