Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

The lead vocalist of "Steelheart" and Bulgarian rock band "Tangra" to jam out at Green Rock Fest 2017

The frontman of one of the emblematic American rock bands – “Steelheart” Miljenko Matijevic is to arrive in Bulgaria for the first time as a special guest of the ninth edition of “Green Rock Fest” in Ruse. The event will take place on September 15, 2017 at "Svoboda" Square in front of the building of Ruse Municipality, starting at от 17:00 h. The entrance is free.

"Steelheart" gained popularity in the early 1990-s with Mili’s powerful voice and multi-octave range becoming the heart and soul of the band. He has sung hits such as “She’s gone”, “For Your Love”, “Late For The Party” and other songs from Steelheart’s albums which quickly hit platinum status and brought the band world fame.

In 2017, a special guest of Green Rock Fest Ruse 2017 will be the cult Bulgarian rock band “Tangra” – Konstantin Markov, Stanislav Slanev – Stanley, Yordan Ganchev and guest musicians Ivo Chalakov and Stefan Popov from “Gravity Co”. “Tangra” comes with new energy and a special concert programme which will present their biggest and most beloved hits since the band’s creation until today.

Other bands which will play on the stage of Green Rock Fest include “Alogia” /Serbia/, “Scarlet Aura”/Romania/, “Born For Vengeance”/Ruse/, “Gunpowder” /Ruse/ and “River Trolls”/Silistra/.

The event is organised at the initiative of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation and Association Green Rock Fest, with the support of Ruse Municipality, business and media representatives.
