Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

The team of Ruse High School of Mathematics in the International competition "Mathematics and Design" - Moscow

The International scientific competition "Mathematics and Design" took place in Moscow in the period April 30 - May 6, 2015. The students from Baba Tonka High School of Mathematics - Ruse had great success in the competition. Three of them won 1st place: Selin Shemsieva - 8th grade and Ivona Tsoneva - 9th grade, with instructor Susan Feimova - senior teacher of Informatics and IT at the Ruse High School of Mathematics, and Presiana Marinova - 10th grade.

Sonya and Neli Zarkovi from 11th grade, with instructor Susan Feimova, and Kaloyan Manev and Yoana Ilarionova from 11th grade, with instructor Rumyana Jhekova, won 2nd place. The 12th graders Yulian Georgiev and Petar Kiryakov, with instructor Susan Feimova, won 3rd place.

The participation of the team of students and their teachers in the international competition was supported by Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation and BH-social project of Econt, Rotary Club - Ruse and Fund "Mathematics of the future."
