Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. Gauguin was later recognized for his experimental use of color and synthetist style that were distinguishably different from Impressionism. His work was influential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin’s art became popular after his death; partially from the efforts of art dealer Ambroise Vollard who organized exhibitions of his work late in his career, as well as assisting in organizing two important posthumous exhibitions in Paris. Many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sergei Shchukin as well as other important collections.

The team of Ruse University participated in Shell eco-marathon`2017

The team of Ruse University that participated in the 2017 Shell eco-marathon competition for ultra-energy-efficient vehicles was officially welcomed back to Ruse today. In its fourth participation in the race, the team got 360 km with 1kwh. The Ruse vehicle competed in the Prototype battery-electric category.

The team was welcomed by the Deputy Regional Governor of Ruse Region – Valentin Kolev, the Executive Director of Ruse Free Spirit City Municipal Foundation – Elena Minkova, representatives of the sponsors and the university administration.

The team was greeted by the Rector of Ruse University Prof. Velizara Pencheva.

The head of the team Associate Professor Simeon Iliev extended his gratitude to the companies and institutions which had supported the team’s participation in the competition and presented with a photograph of the team members as a sign of their appreciation.
